This style was and still is predominantly for men, though around 2009, women started appearing in Soul Japan as eye candy, and then eventually on street snaps and editorials, showcasing their own love for the masculine brands. When Soul Sister debuted back in 2011, it was a great outlet for those that wanted a stark contrast to a lot of cutsey styles within Gyaru.

OraOra has a monochromatic aesthetic, save for a few pops of pink or leopard or loud print releases that crop up from time to time. The staple colour-combos are:

Black x Gold

Black x Silver

Black x White

White x Gold 

Black x Hot Pink* 

*Ladieswear only.

As the style aims to look as hardcore and thug as possible, the staple items of clothing are:

Long and short-legged tracksuits (called a "set-up" in Japan) 

T-shirts (both short and long sleeved)

Tank tops 

Jersey or pleather skirts

Booty Shorts

Hoodies (and zip-ups)

Stadium and Puffer jackets

Trainers (Sneakers) 

Ugg-style boots

Adidas-style foam slippers 

This is what you'll mostly see ladies in the magazines or IRL wearing. Of course, not every outfit is complete without accessories - luckily, they are usually quite simple with this casual style:

"Power bead" bracelets (souped-up versions)

Chunky gold or silver rings (mainly for guys, but I've seen a few girls rocking them, too)

Big-ass sunglasses (very dark or polarized lens)

small gold chain necklaces with their name etc. 

Snapbacks/Baseball Caps

Tattoos & Piercings galore

Short to long deco-nails (of course - it's still Gyaru after all!)
